My mother was the first cousin of Shirley Dunham Haeger. They didn't get to see each other often, but they had a strong affinity over their lifetimes.

Yes. Shirley's father, Bill, was my grandmother's brother. My grandmother was Agnes Dunham Myers.

Your mother and I are second cousins [same generation] , so you and I are second cousins once removed.

You are one generation younger than your mother and me, so "once removed." I've met your parents twice when traveling through their area years ago. I don't remember how I found her in the first place, but I did and we met for lunch when my husband and I were traveling. Interestingly, I have warm connections to the Dunham siblings from which we came, but your family does not. Bill Dunham did not have a good relationship with his son in your family line.

If the location is Atlanta, I would have pegged this as the Hyatt Regency. We saw that before the one in Chicago was built....50 years ago. They pioneered the Jules Verne look for the elevators.
