Fight Clip Club: The Princess Bride

It was only a matter of time before I got around to analyzing this one. 

The reason I have been avoiding it up till now is that this is one of those film fights that is so famous, so iconic, that so many people have talked about it so many times before, and so much behind the scenes tidbits and background about its process has been discussed over so many years, that it just seems so redundant, so much a cliché, for me to add my two cents’ worth that’s no doubt already been put out there so many times before. So.

And yet.

Fight Clip Club really wouldn’t be complete without its inclusion, would it? And hey—as overdone as it may be, I still very much enjoy watching this fight, and listening to this quippy dialogue. It holds up and is consistently one of the very best sword fights on film to date. I gotta do it. Twist my arm. Meet me after the paywall and I’ll give you some more of my thoughts on it.
