Fight Clip Club: The Old Guard

You really want to do this, kid?

What could possibly be cooler than Highlander—immortal warriors that fight each other on modern city streets with swords? How about a whole group of them, the leader and central character of which is a badass woman who wields an ancient axe as old as herself? 

When I heard of the premise of Old Guard, I was so in. Middle aged women kicking ass? Hey, that’s me! And this is a really nicely done elegant action movie, too—you can tell one of the guys in charge of the John Wick flicks was in charge of much of this movie’s fantastic fights, including this one. 

I was tempted to choose one of the fights where Theron’s character uses that beautiful classical axe, just because that’s such an unusual weapon that you won’t see often at all. But there’s something irresistible about these two badass women duking it out with their bare hands, know what I mean? So let’s check it out and I’ll see you on the other side to talk more about it.
