The thing that’s great about Jason Statham action moves is that they’re all so Statham-y. Statham just Stathams so much in each one, even in well-fleshed-out multi-star vehicles like Snatch (which, yes

Alex Dobrenko`
, I will be covering that one at some point here). My first exposure to the Statham phenomenon was in the Transporter movies, and I enjoyed those very much for what they were. Now Snatch was a different monster, but it still was chock full of all the Statham-y goodness that makes his fight scenes such a delight to watch. Hot take: I actually enjoy Stathaming as much as I love to John Wick. I’m going overboard with the turning these men’s names into verbs but I’m not even sorry.

So when I saw the trailers for The Beekeeper, I figured I was in for a Stathamish time, and I was ready. But this film? It’s the Stathamiest of all Statham flicks, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much of a glorious romp this ended up being, in so many good ways. But I’m not here to review the whole movie (though I highly recommend it—as long as you go at it with a light heart); I’m just here for Fight Clip Club.

There were a few moments in the very many, quite stylish, fights throughout this movie that were so unusual that it made my choice hard. But really if I think about it, there’s only one that deserves the full FCC treatment, and it involves another hall of mirrors.
