Fight Clip Club: Anchorman

Boy, that escalated quickly.

Today, I want to continue to diverge from my appreciation of fighting femmes and delve a little further into the genre of comedy. We’re talking broad, slapstick comedy, super fun silliness, and today we’re also talking a large group fight, with strange weaponry.

“Brick, where did you get a hand grenade?”

“I don’t know.”

This fight was made to be a directly comedic imitation of rumbles from famous older films like West Side Story, Blackboard Jungle, and Warriors. You can see this in the choreography, in the scattered end of the fight, even in the music soundtrack backing the fight—it’s very West Side Story-esque. Let’s look closer at this big news team rumble. “No commercials, no mercy!”
